Washington Architectural
Foundation Programs
Washington Architectural Foundation's mission is architects serving the community through design education programs and pro bono design services. Dedicated architects, landscape architects, interior designers, preservationists, urban planners, and others are the heart of the Foundation, lending time, creativity and expertise to its dynamic programs. Our Architecture in the Schools (AIS) program brings architects to 30 classrooms in grades K-12 each year in metropolitan Washington DC schools all wards of the city and Northern Virginia with activities that enhance the curriculum and teach to the learning standards. Two other WAF-sponsored programs are Community Design Services, which provides pro bono design services to other DC nonprofit groups, and the Public Good program which includes Canstruction, a colorful design-build food drive that benefits the Capital Area Food Bank |
